What is KidGive? ▾
KidGive is a free donation platform for school communities. Families donate items they no longer need and other families at the same school can claim them — for free. Built by an 11-year-old who noticed the gap between families with extra stuff and families who needed things they couldn't afford.
Is everything really free? ▾
Yes — 100%. KidGive is donate-only. No selling, no prices, no fees, ever. If you receive something, we hope you'll pay it forward and donate something when you can.
Who can join? ▾
Any family connected to a registered school — parents, students, teachers, and administrators. You sign up with your school info so everyone is verified as part of a real school community.
Which schools are on KidGive? ▾
KidGive is launching now in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. If your school isn't listed, register it using "Register a school" — it takes 3 minutes and we'll set up your community within 48 hours.
Donating & Receiving
How do I donate an item? ▾
Click "Donate" in the nav and follow the 5-step flow: upload photos, pick a category, describe the condition, add item details, then publish. Your listing goes live immediately for families at your school to see.
How does pickup work? ▾
You arrange a safe pickup through private messaging. We recommend meeting at school. We never share home addresses — only general areas.
How are points calculated? ▾
Simple: market price of your item × 2 = your points. We look up the lowest market price online when you upload a photo. A $15 book earns 30 points. A $50 jacket earns 100 points. Volunteer hours earn 20 pts/hr. Teaching earns 30 pts/hr. Daily login earns 30 pts.
What can I do with points? ▾
Redeem them for prizes! Prizes are organized by tiers: Chapter (100 pts), County (500 pts), State (2,000 pts), and National (5,000 pts). Prizes include stickers, pins, t-shirts, hoodies, trophies, and exclusive limited-edition items by Aniv — our prize partner.
Safety
Is KidGive safe for kids? ▾
Safety is our #1 priority. All users are school-verified. Messaging is private. We never share home addresses. Pickups happen at school. Student ambassadors have extra privacy protections.
Will my home address be shared? ▾
Never. We only ever share a general area — never a street address. We always recommend meeting at school for all pickups.
What if I receive something that isn't as described? ▾
Let us know at support@kidgive.com. We take honesty seriously and will follow up with the donor. Repeat dishonesty leads to account suspension.
Schools & Chapters
How do I register my school? ▾
Click "Register a school" anywhere on the site and fill out the short form. We review within 48 hours and set up your school community. You'll need a teacher or admin contact to confirm.
What is a school chapter? ▾
Each school has its own KidGive chapter — a student-led group with a Chapter President, a Teacher Sponsor, and an Executive Council of 6 students. Chapters organize donation drives, volunteer events, and peer teaching sessions.
Does KidGive cost anything for schools? ▾
Nothing. KidGive is completely free for schools, students, teachers, and families. Always.
